Work collaboratively with health and wellbeing professionals and others to support a person to rehabilitate and/or live the best life possible.

Demonstrate an understanding of kawa and tikanga, recognising the role of Māori as tangata whenua in Aotearoa in a support setting.
This apprenticeship develops the skills and knowledge needed to work alongside people living with or rehabilitating from a brain injury. Apprentices will learn tools and strategies to maximise client independence, achieve rehabilitation goals, and empower whānau. The programme is workplace-based and supported through Careerforce’s team of Apprenticeship Advisors and online learning via Aka Toi. Graduates earn a nationally recognised Level 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, Rehabilitation Support (Brain Injury).
What you need to know first
Must be currently employed in a relevant role (e.g. Brain Injury Rehabilitation Assistant or Rehabilitation Support Staff in hospital, residential, or community settings)
