Manage first aid in emergency situations
Be able to respond to and manage first aid requirements in maritime emergencies, including assessment and prioritization of care.
Provide first aid until help arrives
Stabilize casualties using essential first aid techniques until professional help is available.
Provide resuscitation level 2
Apply resuscitation techniques in maritime contexts, including basic life support and use of defibrillation if available.
What You're Signing Up For
This intensive, NZQA Level 3 course prepares students for first aid situations that may arise in a maritime environment, aligned with STCW Basic Training requirements. Over two days, participants will gain the practical skills and knowledge to manage emergency first aid, provide basic resuscitation, and assist until professional help arrives. The course is recognized for fulfilling international maritime safety standards.
