The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLSc) is a four-year programme designed to equip students with a thorough grounding in health sciences and specialised practical training in disciplines including microbiology, biochemistry, and haematology. Graduates are eligible for registration as medical laboratory scientists in New Zealand and can pursue careers in laboratory diagnostics or postgraduate studies in related fields. The programme includes both academic coursework and a clinical placement in the fourth year.

Alternatively, two or more years of university study (at least three papers at 200-level and not more than two failed papers post first year)
