The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Wintec trains students to assess and treat individuals who, due to illness, injury, or circumstance, are limited in their daily functioning. The program blends academic study of occupational therapy theory with substantial hands-on fieldwork placements. Delivered on the Hamilton City Campus by experienced Otago Polytechnic tutors, this three-year programme leads to registration as an occupational therapist in New Zealand and is recognised internationally.

10 Literacy credits at Level 2 or above (5 reading, 5 writing)

It will take a total of 3 years

Demonstrate ethical decision-making and uphold professional standards in all aspects of practice.
10 Numeracy credits at Level 1 or above, or specified numeracy unit standards
Or evidence of attaining an equivalent level of academic achievement
or relevant Level 4 qualification (60 credits in one year)
or 50% of a first-year university workload completed in one year
Medical examination report showing satisfactory physical and emotional health
Two referee recommendations (non-family/friends)
Comprehensive Level 2 First Aid Certificate (Units 6400, 6401, 6402)
Health declaration, immunisation status, and police vetting (Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014)
