Acquire knowledge in construction methods, architectural sciences, and technological advances in the built environment.

Apply knowledge of building codes and legal frameworks relevant to architecture.
This three-year, full-time degree prepares you for a career in architectural design by building foundational knowledge in drawing, CAD, building design, sciences, and legislation. In later years, you’ll specialise in technologically advanced architectural topics. The programme includes immersive practical workshops and studios, critical studies, and industry-relevant learning, enabling graduates to work in architectural practices or pursue further study to become a Registered Architect.

University Entrance: NCEA Level 3 (60 credits at level 3 and 20 credits at level 2 or higher), including 14 credits at Level 3 in each of three approved subjects
Literacy: 10 credits at Level 2 or above (5 reading, 5 writing)
Numeracy: 10 credits at Level 1 or above
OR New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) Ara Construction and Architectural Studies Pathway or equivalent
Portfolio demonstrating design, graphic and/or art skills
Alternative entry possible with evidence of equivalent knowledge/skill from study, work or life experience
