The Graduate Diploma in Architecture at AUT prepares students without a prior architecture degree for entry into the Master of Architecture (Professional), covering key architectural design, theory, and environmental systems.

Students will be equipped with the foundation knowledge and skills necessary for the Master of Architecture (Professional).

Ability to undertake architectural design projects in a studio environment, integrating creativity with technical requirements.

This one-year, full-time programme is designed for students who wish to pursue advanced architectural studies but don’t have a bachelor's degree in architecture. The Graduate Diploma in Architecture includes study in design studios, environmental performance, construction methods, and architectural intelligence to ready graduates for masters-level professional architectural education.
What you need to know first
Bachelor’s degree in spatial design, architectural engineering or equivalent
Relevant professional qualification or experience approved by the dean (or representative) to be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
