The Master of Architecture (Professional) at AUT is for those with an existing degree in architecture and prepares students for registration and practice as professional architects. The programme is professionally accredited and studio-based, integrating social and technical knowledge into design processes. You'll develop a critical design approach, explore architectural history and theory, strengthen research skills through a design thesis, and learn about business, law, and the application of Te Aranga Māori design principles. Graduates meet the academic requirements for NZ registration as architects and are well-placed for roles in the architectural profession.

It will take a total of 2 years

Gain the academic foundation and awareness of the history, theories, and business of architectural practice needed for registration as a professional architect in New Zealand.
Portfolio of work, cover letter and/or interview may be required
Graduates of Bachelor of Design (Spatial and Interior Design) or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Architectural Engineering may be admitted subject to interview and completion of Graduate Diploma in Architecture
International applicants: IELTS 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0) or equivalent
