This Level 6 diploma provides students with the technical and practical skills needed for a career in architectural technology. Learn how to design small to medium buildings, create working drawings, develop building concepts, and understand the principles of building construction and compliance. Become proficient in industry-standard CAD software, and prepare for a variety of roles supporting the design, documentation, and compliance of buildings in New Zealand’s built environment.
What you need to know first
Under 20: Minimum of 50 NCEA credits at Level 2, including at least 12 credits in NCEA mathematics Level 1 and 12 literacy credits at NCEA Level 1, or a relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above, or a recognised equivalent.

Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
It will take a total of 2 years

Learn to produce working drawings for both residential and industrial buildings that meet industry standards.
20+: Special admission may be considered for applicants aged 20 or over who do not meet the standard entry requirements.
Special entry: May be granted at the discretion of the Head of School to applicants who demonstrate capability for study.
International: Minimum IELTS (academic) score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
