Identify types of micro-organisms, nail diseases, basic anatomy, nail structure, and the chemistry of products for safe practice.
Work to become a fully qualified nail technician. Learn to perform manicures, pedicures, acrylic and gel nail application, nail sculpture, and 3D nail art to professional standards. Gain real industry experience through regular client days at UCOL's Nail Salon in Manawatū, developing professionalism, relationship-building skills, and teamwork. The programme features both practical and theoretical components, covering workplace standards, nail science, business practice, nail services, and nail augmentation.

In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
UCOL Manawatū, Palmerston North
It will take a total of 40 weeks
This course requires 35 hours per week

Develop a business plan, understand regulations, employ staff, manage finances, and apply customer service skills for a nail salon.
NCEA Level 2 OR equivalent academic achievement
Applicants may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Executive Dean
English language proficiency: IELTS 5.5 (no band less than 5) or demonstrated equivalent
