The programme features both practical and theoretical components, covering workplace standards, nail science, business practice, nail services, and nail augmentation.
Course Content
- Professional Workplace Standards (15 Credits): First aid, health and safety, professional standards, consultation and needs analysis.
- Nail Technology Science (20 Credits): Micro-organisms and control, nail diseases and disorders, anatomy, nail structure, chemistry of products.
- Business Practice (15 Credits): Business types, planning, regulations, employing staff, financial records, stock control, market research, promotion, legislation, customer service, booking systems.
- Natural Nail Services (15 Credits, 20 Practicum Hours): Anatomy, products and tools, massage techniques, manicure and pedicure, nail shapes, gel polish application, consultation, hygiene, aftercare.
- Nail Augmentation Acrylic Enhancements (20 Credits, 20 Practicum Hours): Acrylic tip/overlay, sculptured enhancements, repair and removal, current trends.
- Nail Augmentation Gel Enhancements (20 Credits, 20 Practicum Hours): Gel services including tips, overlays, sculptured nails, and maintenance.
- Nail Art Services (15 Credits, 15 Practicum Hours): Custom nail art using various media.
