The Bachelor of Applied Management at Otago Polytechnic delivers a business degree grounded in practical, real-world learning. Students engage in case studies, workplace-based assignments, and a third-year internship with a research project, enabling them to gain valuable business connections and hands-on experience. Elective options allow students to specialise in areas of interest, including Accounting, Event Management, Human Resource Management, and Sales and Marketing. The programme is taught at both Dunedin and Auckland International Campuses, with flexible study options (including work-based learning pathways for experienced professionals). Graduates acquire skills to work in a range of operational and strategic management roles and are supported to progress into postgraduate business study.

Build depth of knowledge in elective areas—such as accounting, event management, human resource management, or sales and marketing—to shape a customised study pathway.
Entry Requirements
If under 20: NCEA Level 3 including 14 credits at Level 3 in each of three NZQA approved university entrance subjects, 10 literacy credits at Level 2 or above (5 reading, 5 writing), and 10 numeracy credits at Level 1 or above.
If over 20: Evidence of industry experience and/or alternative qualifications such as the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5).
International: Equivalent secondary school qualification to New Zealand's NCEA levels 1–3.
English Language: New Zealand University Entrance OR Overall Academic IELTS 6.0 (no band score lower than 5.5) OR equivalent.
