About This Course
This certificate equips students with the essential skills and knowledge to confidently undertake the responsibilities of a trustee in Māori land block trusts and governance entities. Participants will learn about legal duties, financial and asset management, kaupapa Māori values, and effective leadership. The programme deepens understanding of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act, tikanga, and stewardship of whenua, preparing graduates to act for the benefit of their whānau, whenua, and future generations. The course is suitable for new, aspiring, or current trustees, whānau, and those passionate about Māori governance and kaitiakitanga.

Entry Requirements
Open entry (no minimum academic requirements).
Applicants for whom English, te reo Māori, or NZ Sign Language is not a first language must provide evidence of English language proficiency (IELTS 5.5 with no band lower than 5, or NZ Certificate in English Language Level 3, or equivalent).
