The programme includes a combination of compulsory and elective courses covering structural design, water systems design, professional practice, and project management, delivered over one year full-time or part-time up to four years. Graduates are prepared to work as Technology Engineers in their specialisation area and are equipped with practical and theoretical knowledge to excel in the engineering industry.

- Structural strand specialisations: Structural Steel and Timber, Structural Concrete, Engineering Development Project, Professional Engineering Practice, Design of Structures, plus electives including Civil Engineering Detailing and Modelling, Civil Engineering Construction Practices, Geotechnical Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management.
- Water and Waste strand specialisations: Water and Waste Systems, Water and Waste Management, Engineering Development Project, Urban Drainage Systems, Professional Engineering Practice, plus electives including Civil Engineering Detailing and Modelling, Hydrology and Erosion Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) options available to gain credit for prior knowledge and experience.
- Entry requirements include a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience, English language competency, and physical capability to perform practical work.
- Programme delivered at MIT TechPark, with full-time (1 year) and part-time (up to 4 years) study options.
- Domestic fees approx. NZD $7,900; International fees approx. NZD $33,280.
