The New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Civil Engineering major) at SIT is a two-year, full-time programme accredited under the Dublin Accord. The programme prepares graduates for careers in civil engineering, equipping them with the skills to design, construct, and manage infrastructure projects. The curriculum covers geotechnical and structural engineering, materials, surveying, hydraulics, highway engineering, management, and project work. Students learn using industry-relevant software and hardware and can advance to further studies or technician roles in the public and private sectors.

Apply theoretical and practical land surveying concepts to civil engineering problems.
Equivalent qualifications (International Baccalaureate, Cambridge), or appropriate trades training and/or demonstrated skills and experience
Minimum of eight literacy credits at Level 1 or higher, including four reading and four writing
