Achieve a pathway to Chartered Professional Engineer status under the Washington Accord, supporting international career aspirations.
The Master of Professional Engineering (MProfEng) at the University of Auckland is developed in consultation with industry to build both capacity and capability in engineering graduates, enabling them to contribute effectively to employers and society. Tailored for those whose first engineering degree is not Washington Accord-accredited, the programme aims to provide the academic foundation needed for global mobility and progression toward Chartered Engineer status through provisional accreditation by Engineering New Zealand. The degree offers 180 or 240 point options, includes a substantial capstone project, and prepares graduates for doctoral study.
What you need to know first
Three-year Bachelor of Engineering (e.g., BE(Civil)), or four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree (typically not Washington Accord-accredited)
For 240-point programme: three-year engineering degree
