Graduates will have practical and theoretical engineering knowledge across core and specialized disciplines, preparing them as professionally qualified engineers.

Students complete around 800 hours of practical work placements, gaining industry experience and applied engineering skills.
The BE(Hons) degree provides hands-on and theoretical education in various engineering disciplines including civil, chemical and process, computer, electrical and electronic, forest, mechanical, mechatronics, and software engineering. Students complete a flexible first year to explore disciplines, major on one engineering discipline, and may combine the degree with others through conjoint or double degrees. The programme includes compulsory coursework, advanced specialization courses, and approximately 800 hours of practical work placement to develop professional skills, ethics, communication, and sustainability knowledge.
What you need to know first
NCEA Level 3 with at least 14 credits in mathematics or calculus (including differentiation and integration), physics and chemistry (chemistry required depending on specialization); alternatively IB Diploma, CIE A Levels or equivalent qualifications as detailed in admission requirements.
