Students will develop the skills to identify and mitigate risks to business data and information systems using industry-standard cybersecurity techniques.

Students will learn to select and use appropriate cybersecurity tools and practices, including cryptography and technical controls.

The New Zealand Diploma in Cybersecurity equips students with expert knowledge and practical abilities to address cybersecurity threats to businesses adopting networked technologies. The course spans topics such as infrastructure security, cybersecurity methods, technical management, cryptography, ethical hacking, data analysis, and includes a work-integrated learning project (potentially via industry placement). Graduates will have enhanced analytical, technical, and attention-to-detail skills, supporting immediate roles in IT security and further academic progression.

Completion of the first year of an IT degree or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
Consent to disclosure of criminal history and relevant professional memberships
Provide a 5-year work history and names of 2 referees
Alternative entry available for those with equivalent tertiary study skills/experience
Middle management roles in IT security (with experience)
