The Master of Data Science (MDataSci) at the University of Auckland enables students to master data-driven insights. Through completing a strong core of Computer Science and Statistics courses, students develop skills in data management, analysis, and innovation—preparing for professional roles in the expanding data science industry. Two taught masters pathways are available (180-point for those with combined backgrounds, 240-point for those from either discipline), both emphasising critical, reflective practice for postgraduate or industry progression.

For 240-point taught masters: Background in Computer Science or Statistics (but not both)
For 180-point taught masters: Undergraduate major in Data Science, or a combination of Computer Science and Statistics
