What You're Signing Up For
Are you wanting to move into a supervisory role in the construction industry? Gain the work-ready skills to get a job as a main contract supervisor on a construction site. This programme is intended for those already in or seeking supervisory positions within construction trades. Completion enables supervisory skills recognition, with practical and theoretical courses covering contracts, programming, planning, and site management. Students choose a construction specialisation and earn 70 credits total. Employment in construction and employer approval for supervision opportunities is mandatory. The programme is offered part-time over 1 year with up to 3 years maximum duration at MIT TechPark campus.
Course Content
- Contracts (15 credits): Knowledge and competencies to read and understand contracts, apply legislative knowledge, set up project files.
- Programming and scheduling (15 credits): Implement a programme of work for construction projects.
- Planning (15 credits): Plan and coordinate construction-related projects, develop workforce development plans.
- Site management (15 credits): Manage construction work sites, supervise projects and teams.
- Specialisation course (10 credits): Choose one - Methods and practices in commercial construction, construction-related manufacturing, construction-related trades, or residential building. Develop techniques for on-site supervision and knowledge of current technologies and materials.
