Students will demonstrate understanding of construction industry-specific language and the relationships between different jobs within the trades.

Students will identify, use, and maintain construction hand tools and materials for completing a variety of trade tasks.

This Level 3 certificate equips students who are new to the trades with essential skills for the construction industry. Students cover a wide range of entry-level trade-related practical abilities, such as carpentry, painting, gib stopping, plumbing, and more. The programme also covers safe tool use and maintenance, reading specifications and drawings, compliance and regulatory knowledge, effective communication, and applied calculations for the construction sector. Graduates can enter the workforce as labourers or pursue apprenticeships, with further career opportunities as carpenters, joiners, plasterers, painters, or roofers available through additional training or experience.
