Hands-on community course to produce furniture or joinery items using SIT's equipment. Suitable for those with prior experience using woodworking machinery or a relevant trade background.
In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
Invercargill, Invercargill
It will take a total of 6 weeks
This course requires 3 hours per week

Students will produce their own furniture or joinery items using woodworking machinery and SIT facilities.

Students will demonstrate safe practices when using woodworking machinery under supervision.

Students will plan and carry out the manufacture of a selected product from raw materials to completion.
Produce your own furniture or joinery items using SIT equipment under qualified supervision. Materials are supplied by attendees. Entry requires prior completion of a woodworking machinery course or a furniture-making/joinery trade qualification. Night class held on campus in Invercargill.
