Core skills this course teaches
Operate woodworking machinery
Learn to set up, safely use, and maintain core woodworking machines including bandsaws, planers, thicknessers, ripsaws, stroke sanders, and boring machinery.
Use portable power tools
Develop practical skills using hand-held electric tools safely in joinery tasks.
Apply basic maintenance for machinery
Understand and perform regular maintenance checks and cleaning for workshop machinery.
What You're Signing Up For
This community course gives students the essential knowledge and hands-on skills to use portable power tools and set up, use, and maintain fixed woodworking machinery, such as bandsaws, surface planers, thicknessers, ripsaws, stroke sanders, and boring machines. Designed for those with no woodwork experience, all materials are included so students can take home their projects.
