Apply workplace policies, procedures, and relevant regulations to work safely and effectively in the collision repair and automotive refinishing industry.

Identify, remove, and replace various vehicle systems and HVAC components to current industry standards.
This Level 3 certificate programme provides students with the foundational skills required to work in the collision repair and automotive refinishing industry. Students will learn about health and safety, use of tools and workshop equipment, automotive component removal and replacement, basic panel repair, and the preparation of vehicles for refinishing. Graduates will be ready for entry-level positions in automotive repair, including panel beating and refinishing roles.

NCEA Level 1 or equivalent academic achievement, or at the discretion of the Executive Dean.

It will take a total of 40 weeks
This course requires 35 hours per week

Demonstrate the use of hand tools, power tools, and workshop engineering equipment commonly used in the automotive repair industry.
A Class 1 full driver’s licence (or working towards) is recommended.
Basic computing skills are an advantage.
