Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
UCOL Manawatū, Palmerston North
It will take a total of 3 years

Graduates will be able to work independently in cabinetry, timber doors and windows, timber stairs, or laminate fabrication to the required trade standards.

Students will acquire competency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of joinery machines and equipment relevant to their chosen strand.

This 3-4 year apprenticeship-based certificate prepares students to work unsupervised as a joiner in various specialist strands. The programme is a mix of block courses at UCOL and practical experience in a workplace, covering machine operation, joinery manufacturing, defect remediation, customer service, literacy and numeracy for trades, and workplace safety.
