Apply safe working procedures and practices, including identifying hazards in plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying workplaces.
The New Zealand Certificate in Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drainlaying provides a comprehensive introduction to all three disciplines, covering water supply systems, building envelopes, drainlaying, plumbing maintenance, foul water, and basic gasfitting. This programme is designed to prepare learners to assist licensed professionals and confidently move into an apprenticeship for a Level 4 trade qualification. No apprenticeship agreement is needed to begin. It includes a mixture of class time, hands-on activities, and self-directed study to develop the practical and theoretical knowledge essential for this career pathway.

This course requires 33 hours per week

Assist with the installation of basic plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying systems and components such as hot and cold water supply, sanitary appliances and fixtures, foul water systems, and associated drainlaying components.
