The New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Level 6) is designed for those who want to lead and manage building projects. The programme covers technical knowledge and practical skills needed for employment in building project management or quantity surveying roles. Graduates gain confidence with New Zealand legislation and standards, project administration, planning, tendering, materials, contract management, structural knowledge, cost estimation, and personnel management, equipping them for successful careers in the construction sector.
What you need to know first
NCEA Level 2 including 12 credits in mathematics (excluding statistics) and a minimum of 12 literacy credits at NCEA Level 1, or a relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above, or a recognised equivalent.

This course requires 33 hours per week

Analyse and evaluate building materials for suitability, performance, and sustainability in different environments.
Special Admission: Applicants 20 years of age or older without standard entry requirements may be considered.
Discretionary Admission: Applicants under 20 may be considered based on preparedness.
English or te reo Māori proficiency required; additional proof required for students for whom neither is a first language.
