Develop transferable skills for the building and construction industry through practical, project-based learning.

Demonstrate and apply safe work practices and contribute to health and safety culture in construction contexts.

Work collaboratively with others and communicate effectively in the context of construction projects.
The Building and Construction (Level 3) programme at the Waikato Trades Academy (Wintec | Te Pūkenga) emphasises practical, project-based learning, where theory is directly applied to construction projects. Students gain industry-relevant, transferable skills sought in the building trade sector, preparing them for entry to apprenticeships or employment.
What you need to know first
To move to year two, at least 80% of the available credits in year one must be completed. Otherwise, entry may be at the discretion of the WTA.
