This course requires 1 hours per week

Students will practise fundamental carpentry skills using hand tools.

Students will learn and apply safety protocols essential for a trades workshop.

Students will build a small project they can take home, applying the hand skills and safety knowledge gained.
The Carpentry Taster provides Year 11+ (aged 15+) students with the opportunity to develop their basic carpentry hand skills, learn about hand tools and workshop safety, and work on a small project. The course aims to help students decide if a career in construction is suitable, serving as an entry pathway to further carpentry or construction trade training.
What you need to know first
Year 11 and over (must be at least 15 years of age for workshop access)
