About This Course
If you’re passionate about all things digital but are still unsure of what path to take, the Certificate in Creative Media is for you! This programme offers a strong foundation in animation, film production, and visual design. You will learn to use industry-standard software and equipment in practical, hands-on projects, culminating in a professional mini-portfolio that showcases your skills across creative disciplines. The course is open to both domestic and international students, with online and part-time study options available.
Course Content
- Principles of animation (2D, frame-by-frame, rigging, digital character design)
- Film production: scripting, storyboarding, filming, editing, motion graphics, visual effects, on-set safety
- Graphic, web, UX, and UI design including poster, game interface, and web layout creation
- Using key software: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Animate, Character Animate, Dreamweaver, Adobe XD, Webflow
- Portfolio development and reflective practice
Entry Requirements
At least 16 years old
Basic computer skills
Interest in design
NCEA Level 2 or equivalent
For non-native English speakers: IELTS 5.5 (no band lower than 5.0)
