This short course explores the differences between domestic and industrial sewing, with a focus on speed, precision, machinery, and workroom safety. Students learn to use a variety of industrial sewing machines common in clothing manufacturing, undertake guided exercises to build practical sewing and construction skills, and construct garment samples to professional industry standards. Fabric selection, fabric composition, sewing terminology, machine maintenance, and safe work practices are covered to prepare for production-level garment creation. The course caters to those seeking insight or skills enhancement for the fashion production industry.
Entry Requirements
Must be 16 years old or over and not attending high school.
