About This Course

The Economics Major in the Bachelor of Business at AUT introduces students to the fundamental fields of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. Students will learn how markets work, how government and policy operate, the impact global affairs have on individuals, and the role of data in economic analysis. The programme equips you with theoretical knowledge and practical analytical skills highly valued across business, financial, research, and public sector environments. Work integrated learning in the final semester provides valuable workplace experience.
