Students will gain ability to critically evaluate educational practices, policies, and research in a range of educational contexts.
The Master of Education at AUT is for practising education professionals who wish to undertake advanced study in educational theory, research, leadership and policy. This master's degree allows you to study coursework or complete a substantial dissertation or thesis. It is not a teaching qualification and does not enable registration as a teacher. Graduates will develop advanced critical analysis, independent research skills, and a broad understanding of educational studies, policy, and leadership in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally.

Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting

It will take a total of 18 months

Learners will build understanding of contemporary issues, leadership, digital pedagogies, and the impact of global and local policy across various educational settings.
A relevant bachelor's degree with a B grade average or higher in level 7 courses (or equivalent)
A brief CV that includes tertiary qualifications and relevant professional experience
