This NZQA-approved certificate is for experienced automotive engineering technicians who wish to become specialists in electric vehicles. The programme provides skills and knowledge to diagnose and repair faults in electric and hybrid electric vehicles and machines. Graduates will be capable of working in workplaces requiring advanced diagnostic and repair capabilities for electric vehicle faults. While most of the theory is delivered online via Otago Polytechnic, students also attend weekly Zoom night classes and participate in a one-week practical block course at NorthTec Future Trades Campus in Whangārei. Local workshops and support are available at regional NorthTec campuses.

Must be at least 16 years old at programme commencement
