He Toki Electrical Trades Training is designed for Māori and Pasifika learners aged 16-40 seeking a career in the electrical industry. This one-year, full-time programme leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering Theory (Level 3), preparing students to become apprentice electricians working under supervision. The programme features hands-on training, integration of te reo and tikaka, and strong mentorship and pastoral care. Graduates gain foundation knowledge and practical skills in electrical installation, testing, safety, and equipment operation. Entry includes pathways for both school leavers and adults, with a personalised approach to learning.

NCEA Level 1 with Mathematics and English, or equivalent knowledge and skills
Or aged 20+ with evidence of aptitude or appropriate work/life experience
Applicants who do not meet above may apply for discretionary admission if prepared for study at Level 3
Must demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to NCEA Level 1 English (see NZQA Rules for alternatives)
