Core skills this course teaches
Work on plug-in electrical appliances up to 250 volts
Perform maintenance, testing, and supervision of electrical appliances powered by plug and flexible cords up to 250 volts.
Apply electrical safety practices
Understand and apply safety measures to protect personnel and comply with electricity regulations.
Perform basic first aid and CPR
Provide first aid and basic life support in line with Unit Standards 6401 and 6402.
What You're Signing Up For
The Electrical Appliance Serviceperson qualification allows the holder to work on plug-in electrical appliances up to 250 volts. The course provides theory and practical assessment covering electrical circuits, conductors, insulators, fittings, appliances, testing, safety, and relevant regulations. Students also learn basic first aid and CPR. Completion prepares learners for registration and practical assessments required by the Electrical Workers Registration Board, although 18 months practical training is required for full qualification.
