Gain confidence and competence in maintaining, disconnecting, and connecting fittings and appliances.

This programme enables learners to gain certification and confidence to work on fixed wiring and connected appliances, in line with the requirements of the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB). On completion, students can sit the Electrical Service Technician (Formerly ESTB) examination and are prepared for roles involving electrical maintenance, testing, and certification. The course covers both the theory and practical skills needed and meets the EWRB standards for registration. Prior completion of the Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (formerly ESTA) course is required. Students must also complete 18 months practical training to gain the full qualification.

In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
UCOL Manawatū, Palmerston North
It will take a total of 6 weeks
Fulfil the theory and practical assessment component requirements to sit the recognized certification exam.

Be permitted to perform prescribed electrical work as outlined by the EWRB, including supervising and certifying others' work.
