Electrical
A course by
WITT
Gain the skills to design, install, commission, and fault-find grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems through a practical, industry-endorsed NZQA Level 4 micro-credential for electrical workers.
Blended study
This is a mix of online learning & face-to-face sessions
WITT Campus, New Plymouth
It will take a total of 4 weeks

Participants will be able to assess a site's appropriateness for a PV system and calculate estimated energy yields for clients.

Participants will learn to evaluate a client's energy use, develop load versus PV profiles, and recommend methods to enhance PV self-consumption.

Ability to select and analyse the suitability of different components needed for a safe and effective grid-connected PV system.
This micro-credential provides electricians, electrical engineers, and inspectors with the knowledge and practical skills required to design, install, and maintain grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems. The program includes both online and face-to-face components and is endorsed by the Sustainable Energy Association of New Zealand (SEANZ). Completion is a prerequisite for further battery or off-grid solar installer credentials and contributes towards EWRB endorsements.
