Electrical
A course by
WITT
A practical micro-credential for electrical workers on designing and installing stand-alone (off-grid) power systems, including solar and battery components.
Blended study
This is a mix of online learning & face-to-face sessions
WITT Campus, New Plymouth
It will take a total of 6 weeks

Evaluate a site's suitability and perform energy yield calculations for different times of the year.

Assess client loads, develop load profiles, and estimate shares of renewable and generator energy.

Choose the most suitable battery technology for each situation based on a range of factors.
This micro-credential provides advanced training for electrical professionals on the design, installation, commissioning, and fault-finding of stand-alone power systems. Covering a wide range of topics from off-grid battery technologies and inverter systems to site assessment, cabling, generator integration, regulations, and safety requirements, it builds on prior PV and battery system training. Delivered through a blend of flexible online modules, face-to-face sessions, and a post-course assignment, the course prepares participants to confidently provide reliable, safe, and sustainable off-grid electrical solutions.
