It will take a total of 32 weeks

Gain hands-on experience in restoration planting, pest control, nursery work, and erosion management with a focus on environmental protection.

Learn safe use and maintenance of mechanised and specialist equipment relevant to conservation and land management.

Participate in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of real-world environmental projects in collaboration with conservation experts.
This 32-week full-time programme combines the NZ Certificate in Primary Industry Skills (Level 2) and NZ Certificate in Primary Industry Operational Skills (Level 3), with a special emphasis on kaitiakitanga (conservation and environmental protection). Training includes both theoretical and practical components, exposure to local conservation sites, guest speakers, and hands-on project work. Graduates will be equipped for work in the primary industries sector with particular strengths in conservation, ready for employment or further study.
