Core skills this course teaches
Apply knowledge of terrestrial ecosystems
Understand and explain the science of soil, water resources, biodiversity, and the principles of ecology for the management of terrestrial environments.
Conduct environmental monitoring
Develop and use skills in designing and implementing environmental monitoring systems, including using GIS and environmental statistics.
Manage resources for environmental projects
Identify, assess, and manage resources needed for community or government-driven environmental projects.

Successful completion of NZ Diploma in Environmental Management (Terrestrial strand) (Level 5) or equivalent qualification.
Applicants 20 years or older without standard entry: evidence of relevant knowledge and experience and interview required.
