Critically engage with Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Māori planning concepts, and partnership with tangata whenua in planning practice.
Massey's Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Planning (BRP) is a unique degree that combines urban and natural resource planning. Students study core planning courses, complete a compulsory minor, and gain practical experience through fieldwork, workshops, studio work, and interaction with practitioners. The BRP prepares graduates for professional roles in planning, sustainability, and resource management in New Zealand and internationally, and is the first undergraduate planning degree in Australasia offerable by distance learning. The degree is accredited by the New Zealand Planning Institute, has a strong focus on Te Tiriti principles, and supports the development of skills for creating sustainable and resilient communities.
