Intermediate Sustainable Nutrient Management in New Zealand Agriculture is a professional development short course designed for advisers and professionals responsible for sustainable nutrient management on farm systems. Covering nutrient cycling, water movement in agricultural landscapes, effective farm practices and nutrient budgeting, the course helps you learn to assess nutrient requirements, use the Overseer software, and understand environmental protection strategies for different types of agriculture. The course is delivered online, includes self-study (up to 80 hours), and culminates in a two-hour examination. Successful completion of this intermediate course and its advanced counterpart leads to the Certificate of Completion in Sustainable Nutrient Management in New Zealand Agriculture.

Completion of at least one tertiary level course in Soil Science or Land Resource Management, or significant practical or professional experience in production agriculture, horticulture or environmental science.

Not suitable as an introductory course to nutrient cycling concepts.
