Graduates will be able to perform core hands-on tasks required in farm and rural business operations, such as equipment maintenance, fencing, and livestock handling.

This practical Level 3 certificate, offered by Toi Ohomai in partnership with Primary ITO, Dairy NZ, and local farmers, is designed for those interested in a hands-on farming career. The course covers essential operational skills including fencing repair, chainsaw maintenance, animal welfare, and converting grass into meat, milk, and fibre. Learners gain real-world experience through work placements and develop skills crucial for roles in all rural or primary sector businesses. Graduates receive both the New Zealand Certificate in Primary Industry Operational Skills (Level 3) and the New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Farming Systems) (Level 3).
