About This Course
The New Zealand Certificate in Primary Industry Skills (Level 2) with strands in Farming and Sustainable Horticulture is a 19-week, hands-on taster programme offered by Toi Ohomai. You'll gain practical skills essential for entry-level work in the farming or horticulture sectors and a solid understanding of safety, environmental, and industry practices. Students experience a combination of theory and practical sessions, covering core activities from animal handling and fencing to plant propagation and crop management. Graduates are prepared for employment in a range of primary sector roles or for progression to further study in agriculture or horticulture.

- Riparian and revegetation planting
- Tools and small engine maintenance and operation

- Planning and planting for riparian and revegetation
- LUV (likely light utility vehicle) operation
