Tailor your studies to specialise in aquaculture, marine conservation, or management roles according to career interests.

Learn the impacts of overfishing, pollution, habitat destruction, and climate change on marine and freshwater environments, and how to apply sustainable solutions.
NCEA Level 3 (60 credits at Level 3 or higher and 20 credits at Level 2 or higher), including 14 credits at Level 3 in each of three approved subjects, and specific literacy and numeracy requirements
Any qualification recognised by NZQA as equivalent to the achievement of NCEA Level 3
Any Level 4 qualification in a related field
Alternate entry possible based on demonstrated skills via study, work, or life experience (case-by-case)
English language requirements: IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5), or NZQA approved alternatives
For distance study: employment or access to a suitable aquaculture workplace, ability to attend compulsory workshops and assessments
