Students will be able to describe and distinguish the main styles of wine produced in New Zealand and articulate their key characteristics.

Participants will gain an understanding of the various wine regions in New Zealand and the impact of regional characteristics on wine styles.
This short course introduces participants to major New Zealand wine styles, the characteristics that differentiate them, and the key wine regions across the country. Students will learn about food and wine matching, with practical sessions involving wine tasting and comparative analysis. The course is suitable for those pursuing careers in hospitality, wine service, or viticulture-related roles.
What you need to know first
Applicants must be at least 16 years old at the time the programme commences.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level.
Physically able to complete the programme-specific outcomes.

Learners will be introduced to basic concepts of food and wine pairing to enhance dining experiences.
Must be at least 18 years old at time of enrolment (for wine tasting).
For applicants whose first language is not English: IELTS score of 5.5 with no band lower than 5, or internationally accepted equivalent.
