About This Course
The New Zealand Certificate in Food & Beverage, Barista, Wine & Spirits (Level 4) provides hands-on learning and industry-relevant knowledge to start or advance your career in hospitality and events. Over 16 weeks, you'll cover coffee and barista fundamentals, restaurant and café service techniques, food and beverage product knowledge, wine regions and tasting, classic cocktails, spirits and mixology, as well as compliance and employment law. Graduates will be equipped to work in a variety of hospitality settings and pursue further study towards advanced hospitality management or wine qualifications.

- Barista intensive: classic coffee styles, coffee origins, roasting styles, milk alternatives
- Restaurant & café service: customer service, sales, culinary terms, cookery techniques, specialist products
- Introduction to wines: major grape varieties, wine regions, wine styles, wine vocabulary, NZ and international appellations
- Bartending, cocktails & mixology: classic cocktail recipes, bartending skills, spirits categories, WSET Award in Spirits (Level 2)
- Alcohol law, stock control & employment: Licensed Controller Qualification (LCQ), Sale of Alcohol Act, Employment Relations Act, inventory management
