The programme caters for those new to hospitality and cooking, incorporating teamwork, workflow organisation, food safety, and exposure to a range of culinary contexts. Delivery includes hands-on kitchen work, work-integrated learning, and the option for distance assessment for those with existing experience. Graduates are equipped for entry-level chef positions or can advance to diploma or degree-level cookery study.

Preference given to applicants with New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 3), equivalent, or one year of relevant industry experience when places are limited
International applicants must meet English language requirements (IELTS 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 or equivalent)
Additional documentation may be required: academic transcripts, proof of identity/residency, CV for applicants with industry experience
