Training is provided in real-world environments, including UCOL's commercial restaurant, and includes practical industry experience. Graduates will be equipped for roles in restaurants, cafés, and bars, and have the foundation for advanced careers or further study in hospitality.

In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
UCOL Manawatū, Palmerston North
It will take a total of 19 weeks
This course requires 35 hours per week
Students are able to monitor and maintain interactions with colleagues, managers, and customers to provide efficient service and support team success.

Graduates can follow operating procedures and policies to handle problems typical in hospitality establishments and ensure legal compliance.
New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 3), OR
Relevant qualification at NZQF Level 2 or a recognised equivalent
Special Admission: Age 20+ with evidence of preparedness
Discretionary Admission: Under 20 with evidence of preparedness
