Designed for those needing to use a chainsaw at home or in non-commercial situations, the course covers hands-on and theoretical aspects including safety requirements.
Course Content
- Checking a chainsaw and its components
- Safely transporting and using chainsaw fuel
- Identifying hazards influencing chainsaw operation
- Personal protection and first aid requirements for chainsaw operators
- Starting and testing the chainsaw
- Using a chainsaw to make cuts
What you need to know first
Be at least 16 years old
NCEA Level 1 with 10 credits in Numeracy and 10 credits in Literacy OR equivalent knowledge and skills
Physically able to complete the course
