Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
It will take a total of 4 weeks

Demonstrate understanding of how to safely operate a chainsaw, including starting, handling, and making cuts.

Perform maintenance and sharpening of chainsaws and check their components for safe use.
This course teaches you to operate, maintain, and sharpen a chainsaw safely. It includes a three-day practical workshop, logbook completion, and pre-course material to study. Designed for those needing to use a chainsaw at home or in non-commercial situations, the course covers hands-on and theoretical aspects including safety requirements.
What you need to know first
Be at least 16 years old
NCEA Level 1 with 10 credits in Numeracy and 10 credits in Literacy OR equivalent knowledge and skills
Physically able to complete the course
