Graduate with a foundational understanding of horticultural technology, production, and management systems.

Complete a minimum of 12 weeks of hands-on practical experience across at least two horticultural units.
The Diploma in Horticulture covers a wide range of topics relating to horticultural technology, production, and management. Students gain skills in applied computing, problem-solving, propagation, soils, plant health, and engineering. This 120-credit, one-year full-time programme contains eight compulsory courses and a practical work requirement, ensuring graduates are prepared for roles in New Zealand’s horticulture industry. Regional part-time study options are available in Nelson and Tauranga. The programme addresses industry-relevant knowledge to develop skilled professionals in horticulture production and management.
What you need to know first
NCEA Level 2, a minimum of 40 credits over four subjects recognised by Lincoln University. University Entrance literacy and numeracy standards are also required.
